Previously in Chapter 11, Alex was abducted by the reptilians but managed to escape and join “The Resistance.” He discovered Mr. Z as the Captain of the resistance and Avery as the second in command.

Rig, Mia, and Alex were assigned a mission to rescue hostages from the Demons of Avalon. After their successful evacuation, Avery received a new mission from Mr. Z to retrieve a parcel from the Pleiadians’ secret base.

Along the way, they encountered reptilian carnage and fought alongside the Pleiades. While at a bar, Alex spotted Anna again, after spying and capturing her.

Avery and Rig returned to base, their spirits high despite Avery’s injured arm. They were overjoyed to learn of Alex’s success in apprehending Anna.

However, as a precautionary measure, Anthony used a SIM scanner to examine both Anna and Shaheen before taking them to the Resistance’s base.

To their surprise, they discovered a nano communication SIM and a location finder on both captives. Knowing that reptilians were three times smarter than humans, Avery warned Anthony to be cautious.

After bidding farewell to Rig and his team, Avery set off with the parcel, which he had to deliver safely to Mr. Z. Even this seemingly small task posed great danger since word had spread among the demons about the relic’s significance.

For them, its survival meant their demise, and no demon wanted it falling into human hands. Meanwhile, Rig awaited Anthony and Alex’s return to base with Anna and another human traitor.

Ten minutes later, a black car entered the base with Anthony behind the wheel. The Resistance base was secure from all sides, thanks to the private detective agency that had been revealed as their protectors.

Though few people were present at that moment, there was a pressing need to begin interrogating their captives. Upon Anthony’s order, two members escorted Anna and Shaheen out of the car and led them to the base’s basement for further interrogation.

Time was of the essence, as the captives represented an invisible force that had infiltrated their ranks. Anna had an anti-shapeshifting EMP device implanted in her brain, preventing her from transforming into her reptilian form.

Anna and Shaheen were made to sit in electronic chairs. Anna received a mild shock to regain consciousness. Startled by the unfamiliar faces before her, a surge of defiance filled her mind.

Meanwhile, Shaheen also regained consciousness but appeared drained and lifeless, aware of his guilt.  Anthony held a report containing Alex’s statement and a summary of Anna’s conversation with Shaheen.

Rage filled Anna’s eyes as she glared at Anthony, attempting to flail her arms wildly as if trying to shapeshift. However, the severe shock to her brain left her paralyzed. Anthony warned that time was running short and that her army would be searching for her diligently.

Growling, Anna retorted, “You humans who lick our shoes can’t even scratch us.”

Anthony replied playfully, “It’s a pity we’re your hosts, yet you speak to us this way.” Anna’s rage intensified, foam forming at the corners of her mouth as if she were having an epileptic seizure.

At Anthony’s signal, one of the members stepped forward, splashing water on Anna’s face and offering her a glass of water.

Meanwhile, Shaheen observed Anna’s condition like a stunned monkey. Sensing his opportunity, he pleaded, “Leave me alone! I’m just a human like you!”

Anthony glanced at Shaheen before turning back to Anna. The button was pressed once more at Anthony’s command. As the shock coursed through Anna’s body, she shouted in pain before finally saying, “I will not tell you anything. I am loyal to my nation.”

Anthony responded with a mix of understanding and determination, “I know you’re tough, but don’t force me to do something that will hurt you. Answer the questions correctly. I know your kind is resilient.”

Another shock jolted Anna’s body as a member pressed a button. The pain reverberated through her, causing her body to ache. Shaheen watched helplessly as Anna continued to suffer.

Frustrated, Anna spat at Anthony as soon as she regained consciousness. Anger laced her voice as she declared, “We are many, and you won’t be able to defeat us. Everyone in your world has sold out, even your god.

The funeral of this world is out of our hands; neither an angel nor a god can save you.”

Anthony smiled sadly and replied, “We don’t believe in gods or angels. We don’t wait for a messiah. We believe in ourselves, in our unity as humans. Whether one believes in gods or some other entity.”

Anna spoke in a low voice, acknowledging the vast divide between their worlds, “I know that you can never understand us, just as our nation can never understand you. We are two sides of the same coin.”

A member by Anthony’s side remarked that they needed to employ another method since Anna wouldn’t reveal the whole truth willingly. He suggested using force, but Anthony intervened,

Anthony glanced at him and stated firmly, “No Yobito, she will reveal the secret with a few more attempts.” Yobito pressed the button at Anthony’s command.

Anna screamed under the intense shock and pleaded, “I will tell everything! Please don’t hurt me anymore.”

Anthony Urge her to not delay and share everything that is asked. Anna reluctantly confessed, “I can only share a few secrets; otherwise, I’ll be killed too.”

Yobito laughed menacingly and threatened, “If you don’t tell us the whole truth, we’ll kill you ourselves.”

Anna revealed, “We have a human slave force all over the world. They are people who exist among you humans. I am in contact with ten individuals, including Shaheen who was my colleague and partner.”

Anthony sighed sadly, “We already know that in ENCBRIGE city alone, your kind makes up more than 15% of the population. The other 10 to 15% are occupied by demons and jinns residents.”

Anna smirked cunningly and sarcastically remarked, “Well, then maybe you should do something about the human population in the near future.”

Yobito shouted angrily, “You aliens may be tough, but you underestimate the resilience of a common human. This is our world, and you’re entering it as a thief.”

Yobito mocked, “You reptilian and demon aliens should get your own IDs or passports with your real photos if you want to live among us. Stop pretending to be humans.”

Anthony intervened with a smile, “Enough, Yobito! It’s too much now. Keeping her here is too dangerous. I think we should take her to our jail where she can join her fellow prisoners of the same kind.”

Upon further questioning by Anthony, Anna disclosed that there were ten people operating in the same area, including four women and six men. The reptilian base was located in the “Rusvil Desert,” where Alex had been held captive for a week.

Known as the “Rusty Desert of Evil,” it was a place feared by many. More than four months had passed since Alex’s abduction. The Resistance had grown to around 80 soldiers, including two recruits from the Demons of Avalon City, Izea and the 18-year-old Andy, an intelligent and trustworthy teenager.

Each team member had undergone rigorous training and trials, preparing them for the battle against supernatural beings who had ruled their world for generations. Anthony returned to the ground floor, transferring all the interrogation data to Mia.

He looked at Alex with admiration and commended his accomplishments. Anthony hinted at a promotion for Alex, which would grant him access to important secrets and new weapons as he entered the trusted ranks of the Resistance.

A wave of happiness washed over Alex’s heart. While the rules of the Resistance were strict, its members were like family, united by shared hardships and a deep understanding of the harsh realities of their world.

Anthony also informed Alex that their next mission would be to the “Rusvil Desert,” where he had been held captive and where other hostages were still being kept. Alex’s excitement soared, and he expressed his eagerness to embark on this mission.

Anthony replied, “We’ll need some time to confirm the exact location of the base. I’ve spoken with Avery, and Rig has been assigned to spy on the base and gather more information.”

The Resistance’s base was strategically situated in the heart of the city among human society, making an all-out open attack from the reptilians unlikely.

Though movies and propaganda about their existence circulated on the internet and social media, only a select few knew the truth about their presence. With a stroke of luck and unwavering determination, Alex successfully captured Anna, along with the Resistance.

Can a small group of ordinary humans truly reclaim their world and liberate it from the clutches of evil? Only time holds the answer, waiting to unveil the outcome of their courageous struggle. Find out in the next chapter!
